Prices on a cam site look odd at first. “25 tokens.” “60 tk/min.” “Fan club: 300 tokens.” What does any of that mean in dollars? Less complicated than it seems, and there’s a one-line rule further down that does the conversion for you.
What tokens are
Each platform has its own currency, much like chips at a casino or credits at an arcade. You buy a pack with real money, it goes into your account balance, and you spend it on the site.
Sites do it this way because it’s practical. You can tip a few cents at a time without your card being charged for every click, and performers can set prices that work for viewers in any country.
For you the big plus is control. Tokens are prepaid. When your balance hits zero, you can’t spend anything else until you decide to buy another pack.
Tokens or credits
There are two systems out there.
Tokens are used on
Chaturbate,
Stripchat,
BongaCams,
MyFreeCams and
CamSoda. Each one is worth 5 to 11 cents to you, so the numbers on screen look big (“60 tokens a minute”) but they’re really cents.
Credits are used on
LiveJasmin, Flirt4Free and a few others. One credit is about $1, so prices look like ordinary dollar prices (“2.99 credits a minute”).
What a token is worth
That depends on the size of the pack, because bigger packs get a better rate. On a typical token site it might look something like this:
| Pack | Price (approx.) | Cost per token |
|---|---|---|
| 100 tokens | $11 | 11 cents |
| 200 tokens | $21 | 10.5 cents |
| 500 tokens | $45 | 9 cents |
| 1,000 tokens | $85 | 8.5 cents |
The one-line rule
On token sites, 100 tokens is about $10. Divide any price in tokens by ten and you’ve got a close enough dollar figure:
- A 25-token tip is about $2.50.
- A private show at 60 tokens a minute is about $6 a minute.
- A fan club at 250 tokens a month is about $25 a month.
On credit sites it’s even easier. One credit is roughly one dollar.
What you can spend them on
- Tips, to say thanks or to ask for something on the performer’s tip menu. See how to tip.
- Private shows, by the minute. See private shows explained.
- Spy and group shows. You watch someone else’s private show at a lower rate, or split a show with other viewers.
- Fan clubs, a monthly subscription to one performer. See fan clubs explained.
- Messages, photos or videos that performers sell on their profile.
Buying them without trouble
- Only buy on the platform itself. Anybody selling “cheap tokens” elsewhere is running a scam.
- Start with the smallest pack.
- Look for boxes that are already ticked. They tend to add a membership or an automatic top-up.
- Write down the billing name at checkout and compare it with your statement later. See what shows on your bank statement.
Making them last
A few habits stretch a pack a long way. Spend time in public rooms, which cost nothing. Some sites run “happy hours” or promotions, so tip then. Try group or spy shows instead of full privates. And give yourself an amount per visit, say 50 tokens, and log off when it’s gone.
Our cost guide follows a typical pack through a whole evening.
