On free-to-watch cam sites, tipping is what keeps everything going. It’s how performers get paid in public rooms and how viewers say thanks. Nobody hands you a rulebook, though, so newcomers often aren’t sure what’s expected.

How it works

Once you’ve got tokens in your balance, there’s a Tip button in every room. Click it, type an amount and, if you like, a short message. The tokens go across instantly, and the tip usually gets announced in the chat, sometimes with a sound or an animation.

It’s optional. You can watch and chat forever without tipping once.

How much people tip

Approximate dollar values on token sites, where 100 tokens costs about $10 to $11.

Tip menus

Most performers put up a tip menu: things they’ll do for a set number of tokens. Playing a song you pick, answering a question, something more personal. The performer sets the prices and they’re not up for negotiation.

Room goals

A lot of rooms show a goal with a progress bar, say “Dance party at 500 tokens”. Every tip counts toward it. It’s the most sociable way to tip. Even small amounts help, and everyone in the room gets to enjoy the result.

Habits performers like

Regular beats big. Someone who tips a little every visit often means more to a performer than someone who tips once and vanishes.

Add a message. “Thanks for the lovely chat” turns a small tip into something personal.

No strings. Tipping with conditions attached (“I’ll tip if…”) comes across as rude.

Pick your moment. A goal, a birthday, the end of a long chat.

What a tip doesn’t get you

It doesn’t oblige the performer to do anything that isn’t on their menu. It doesn’t buy personal information or contact outside the site. And it doesn’t turn a public room into your private session. For one-to-one time, see private shows.

Keeping track

Each tip is small, which is exactly why it’s easy to lose count. Two habits help. Set an amount per visit before you start, 50 tokens for example. And look at your balance before you leave, so you know what you spent.
