Most people now watch on a phone, and the big cam sites have been built with that in mind. It works well, but a phone is also the most personal, most-looked-at device you own, so a little setup goes a long way.
If you use an iPad, we have a separate guide: setting up a cam site account on an iPad.
No app needed
Apple and Google don’t allow adult cam apps in their stores. So any “cam site app” you’re offered, especially one that asks you to install a profile or an APK file from outside the store, is not official. At best it’s adware, at worst it steals logins.
The good news is you don’t need one.
Stripchat,
Chaturbate,
CamSoda and the other big sites run smoothly in Safari or Chrome. You can add a bookmark to your home screen if you like, though for privacy we’d suggest not.
Setting up
Open a private tab. On iPhone, open Safari, tap the tabs button and switch to Private. On Android, open Chrome, tap the three dots and choose New Incognito tab. Nothing you do there stays in your history.
Type the address yourself. Don’t follow links from ads or messages.
Make an account with a separate email. A free address used only for this. Usernames are public, so keep your real name out of it. How to stay anonymous has tips.
Complete the age check if asked. In some states you’ll be asked to verify your age, often with a quick face scan on the phone’s camera. See cam site ID verification.
If you’ve picked Chaturbate, how to sign up on Chaturbate shows every screen.
Watching comfortably
Turn the phone sideways for a bigger picture, and tap the video for full-screen. Use headphones. Not just for privacy: the sound is much better too.
On a small screen the chat can feel cramped. Most mobile sites let you hide or shrink it while you watch and bring it back when you want to type.
Buying tokens on a phone
The checkout works just like it does on a computer. If your card’s in Apple Pay or Google Pay, note that cam sites generally don’t take those, so have the card details handy.
One thing to check before you buy: your banking app notifications. Many show the merchant and amount on the lock screen. If other people see your phone, turn off lock-screen previews for your bank and for the separate email account. You’ll find this under Notifications in Settings on both iPhone and Android.
Keeping it private
- Use private tabs, always.
- Don’t let the browser save your password for the site.
- If your phone backs up to a family iCloud or Google account, check what syncs, especially Safari or Chrome tabs and bookmarks.
- Set a passcode on the phone if you haven’t already.

Which sites are best on a phone
Stripchat has the cleanest mobile layout of the big sites, with good filters and easy-to-tap buttons. Chaturbate works well and has the biggest choice. CamSoda is tidy and quick. All three are free to watch without a card.
