Maybe you’ve decided cam sites aren’t for you. Maybe you’re just tidying up, or a family member’s about to borrow your laptop. Either way, here’s how to clear things up properly, from the quick device clean-up to a full deletion request.

Part 1: Your devices

This is what matters most if your concern is other people seeing something.

Browser history. In Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, open the settings, find “Clear browsing data” or “Clear history”, choose a time range and include cookies. On iPhone, go to Settings, then Safari, then Clear History and Website Data. If you only want to remove one site, most browsers let you search your history and delete matching entries.

Saved passwords. Your browser’s password manager may have saved your cam site login. Look in Settings under Passwords (Chrome) or in the Passwords app (iPhone and Mac) and delete the entry.

Bookmarks and home screen icons. Easy to forget. Delete them.

Synced devices. If you’re signed into Chrome or iCloud on several devices, history and tabs may sync. Clear them on each device, or clear synced data from your account settings.

Email. Delete or archive receipts and promotional emails. If you used your main address, unsubscribe from the site’s emails using the link at the bottom.

Bank notifications. Clear any purchase alerts that are sitting on your phone.

From now on, a private window avoids all of this. See keeping your browsing private.

Part 2: The platform

1. Use or let go of your tokens

Tokens are lost when the account closes. Spend them first or accept they’re gone. Platforms don’t refund unused tokens in normal circumstances.

2. Cancel memberships

If you have a recurring membership, such as Chaturbate Supporter or a fan club, cancel it first. Closing the account doesn’t always stop a card subscription straight away. Our hidden fees and auto-renewals guide explains why.

3. Close the account

Each platform puts the option somewhere different. Our cancel your account, platform by platform guide lists the exact path for each site.

4. Ask for your data to be deleted

Closing an account sometimes only deactivates it. If you want your personal data removed, email the platform’s support from the address on the account. Something like this works:

Request you can copy

Hello, please close my account (username: ____) and delete all personal data associated with it, including my email address, profile, messages and browsing history on your site. Please confirm when this is done. Thank you.

Many platforms are based in Europe or serve European users, so they already handle these requests under data protection law. Several US states, including California, also give residents a legal right to have their data deleted.

What stays behind

Be realistic about two things. Billing companies keep transaction records, usually for several years, because tax and anti-fraud rules require it. Those records sit with the billing company, not on your profile, and aren’t visible to anyone browsing the site.

And if you verified your age, check the verification company’s own policy. Most reputable ones delete images once the check is done. See cam site ID verification.

If you change your mind later

You can always come back with a fresh account. If you do, set it up the discreet way from the start: separate email, neutral username, private window. How to stay anonymous on cam sites shows how.
