Cam sites reward their best customers the same way airlines and hotels do. Some of the perks are useful. Others are mostly there to lock in a monthly payment. Telling them apart isn’t hard.

Two kinds of program

A fixed monthly fee that gets you extra features across the whole site. Chaturbate’s Supporter plan ($19.95 a month) and Stripchat’s Ultimate membership ($19.99 a month) are two examples.

What you usually get:

  • Private messages to performers
  • No ads
  • A colored or highlighted username that performers notice
  • Some paid content or spy shows at lower prices
  • Now and then, a monthly token bonus

These renew automatically every month until you cancel.

Spending tiers

Other sites, Flirt4Free and LiveJasmin among them, reward you based on how much you spend. Move up a tier and you might get bonus credits on each purchase, cheaper private shows, priority support or a personal account contact, or invitations to special events.

No extra fee here. The rewards come out of what you’d be buying anyway.

Is it worth it?

Before paying for a membership, ask yourself what the perks would actually save you, or give you, in a month.

Say a $20 membership includes private messaging, and without it each message costs about 5 tokens. Send 30 messages a month and the messaging alone is worth around $15. Throw in no ads and a monthly bonus, and it might pay for itself. Send three messages a month and it won’t.

With spending tiers it’s simpler: don’t spend extra just to reach the next level. A 10% bonus on money you weren’t going to spend isn’t a saving.

Does VIP status change anything?

In busy rooms, a highlighted username does help. Performers can see you’re a committed member and you’re more likely to get a reply. On conversation-focused sites, though, showing up regularly and being polite counts for just as much. See etiquette for regulars.

Before you subscribe

  1. Read what’s included, and in particular whether tokens are part of it.
  2. Put the renewal date in your calendar.
  3. Find the cancel option in your account settings before you pay, so you know where it is.
  4. Pay with a card you can easily control, like a virtual card number you can freeze. See discreet payment options.

Membership or fan club?

A membership covers the whole site. A fan club is a subscription to one performer, and the perks only apply in their room. Lots of regulars skip the site membership and join their favorite performer’s fan club instead. See fan clubs and subscriptions explained.

Cancelling

It’s normally a few clicks under Settings, Billing or Membership, and you keep the perks until the end of the period you’ve paid for. If you can’t find the option, contact support and ask them to confirm the cancellation in writing. Our cancellation guide covers each major platform.
