There are thousands of rooms live at any hour, and that’s the problem. The hard part is finding people you actually get along with. A bit of method makes a big difference.
1. Use the filters
Every major site lets you narrow things down. The handiest filters:
- Age group, including Mature categories.
- Language, whether that’s English or another one you like.
- Region, so their evening lines up with yours.
- Room type, such as “chatting” or “new”.
- Number of viewers, if the site lets you sort by it.
2. Read the profile
A thumbnail tells you almost nothing. The profile tells you plenty: their interests (books, music, cooking, travel), which languages they speak, their schedule, what they enjoy in a room and what they won’t do, and how long they’ve been on the site.
If someone’s taken the trouble to write a detailed, personal profile, they usually like talking to their viewers.
3. Go for smaller rooms
With 2,000 people in the room, your message is gone in seconds. With 20 to 80, the performer can read it, reply and remember you. For conversation, smaller is better. See best cam sites for conversation.
4. Give new performers a try
Most sites flag new performers. They tend to have fewer viewers, more time to chat, and cheaper privates while they build an audience. You might find someone before everyone else does.
5. Stay ten minutes before deciding
Watch and chat for a while before making up your mind. Does the performer read the chat and reply? Is the room friendly? Are the regulars nice to newcomers?
6. Make a short list
Use the site’s Follow, Favorite or Bookmark button. Five to ten performers is plenty. You’ll be told when they’re live, and the list ends up working like your own TV guide.
7. Keep coming back
Familiarity takes time. Visit the same performers at their usual hours and they’ll start recognizing your username, remembering what you talked about and saying hello by name. That’s when it gets really enjoyable.
Respect their privacy
Liking a performer doesn’t mean trying to work out who they are offline. Don’t go looking for their real name, their other social media or where they live. It’s a serious invasion of their privacy, and sites ban viewers for it.
Once you’ve found a favorite, you might want to support them more. See how to tip and fan clubs explained.
